This past week has been full of emotion for me... where do I begin?
I had a good friend come out to California to visit me. I have known this beautiful woman for over 30 years. We've shared so much throughout the course of our lives and she's always held such a special place in my heart...
I was kind of wondering what it would be like when she got here and we were actually face to face for the first time in 20 years! I have to say I think I was actually a little nervous, but the moment I saw her it was just like when we were kids. It was so comfortable.
We started that day off taking a drive out to the town we grew up in. We visited our old houses, our grade school, and our high school campus; prety much all of our old stomping grounds. We even had a chance to see some other girls that we have known since grade school for a little mini reunion! WOW! Such a flood of memories came over me as I watched all these grown women that were once the girls that I played on the playground with. It was a bit overwhelming, but in a good way!
There were lots of laughs and even a few tears but it was such a special few days for us both and I can't think of anyone else I would have wanted to take that little trip down Memory Lane with but her. I think it was good for both of us to go back and visit the past. It really puts things into perspective.
Thank you so much my sweet friend. I miss you and I am so happy that you have been a part of my life all these years. I am so glad that we had a chance to do your portraits. You look amazing and I am so proud of the woman that you have become.
